DSL City-wide Network Sessions: LADO Team

The focus of these city-wide DSL Network sessions is LADO - Local Authority Designated Officers (Position of Trust - Child Safeguarding Concerns).

In these sessions, the Birmingham LADO team will be presenting you with useful information regarding their service and what support/advice you are able to get from their service.

It will include:

• What constitutes a ‘Position of Trust’ referral

• How the LADO team work and liaise with other relevant departments

• What is expected of early years settings in respect of making referrals

• How LADO and Early Years work together

It is hoped you will leave the session with a greater understanding of what a LADO referral is, what support and advice early years settings can get from LADO and therefore you will be able to seek relevant timely advise and make appropriate LADO referrals.

Please note that LADO have previously offered a similar session a few years ago therefore it may be appropriate for New Managers/DSLs or those not previously attended or indeed just to serve as a refresher.
