Using Play in COVID-19 Testing by the University of Cambridge
This free resource from Cambridge University includes a leaflet guide to help normalise taking a COVID-19 swab. The goal is to support parents in using play to make COVID-19 sample-taking a less frightening subject for children. Researchers from the Centre for Play in Education, Development and Learning (PEDAL) managed to turn Coronavirus swabs into a game for younger children. Swabs become ‘magic sticks’ that need to be added to a ‘fuel tank’ to help the intrepid adventurers reach their destination. The resources also offer some additional, general tips on further areas surrounding COVID-19 swabs. (Please note that while the video is unavailable, the leaflet is still ready to be downloaded for use.)
