Support and Help

How It Works

WellComm Pathway

There are a range of practitioners and professionals to advise and support you as children move through the WellComm pathway.

Who Can Offer Support?

Get WellComm support, advice and guidance with a district-based Language Champion

Language Champions are district-based Practitioners and  Early Years Consultants who have undertaken additional Communication and Language development training, either ELKAN or Leading and Improving Vocabulary, Early Reading and Language in Early Years (LIVERLEY) programme.

Language champions support early years providers by:

  • Offering advice regarding developing your communication-friendly environment.

  • Signpost you to training and support tools.

  • Provide support relating to amber and red WellComm screening outcomes and interventions.

  • Access specialist advice from SEND speech and language therapist teams if required.

  • Attend the EY District Network meetings that take place each term to share effective practices to promote communication and language with other practitioners and settings in your district
